"Resurrection Day"

The stone rolled away, the tomb was empty
His grave clothes still there where He lay.
They didn’t remember the words He’d said
How He’d told them of the Resurrection Day!

The beloved disciple arrived in a hurry
To see the things the women had to say.
An angel of the Lord said “He is not here”
Do you not know it’s His Resurrection Day?

John saw and believed what Jesus had said
It was the Father’s will that He should go away.
But said He would send The Comforter within
Today was the Savior’s Resurrection Day.

Old doubting Thomas just could not believe
Until he saw the Lord’s body on display.
Then he fell to his knees and worshipped Him
For he knew it was the Resurrection Day!

Now death has no sting, the grave no victory
Jesus paid the debt that only He could pay
So we as His children may forever be with Him
In our heavenly home on Resurrection Day!

Praise be to God who gave us eternal life
Give all the glory to His Holy name
Celebrate this Easter the way you should
It’s our Lord’s Resurrection Day!
