Because the Tomb Was Empty

Because the tomb was empty my life is full
His resurrection filled a meaningless void
And it is because He lives that I live
Oh, He is my Saviour, He is my Lord

Because the Father loves me He gave His Son
To die on a cruel cross for sinners like me
The blood He lost was surely my gain
For it was that day I inherited eternity

Early in the morning they came to the tomb
Only to find the stone was rolled away
The tomb was empty, no body was there
Death over sinners no longer had sway

Jesus had risen they were soon to learn
Tears of sorrow would turn into joy
Now they would understand the reason
God gave the Virgin Mary a baby boy

The Son ascended into Heaven in glory
For He had much work there to do
Mansions He is building for the redeemed
He will come back when He is through

Has His blood washed away your sins
Are you crucified with Him and born again
Is Heaven your destination, do you walk
According to the Father’s divine plan

Because the tomb was empty we have hope
Satan cannot snatch our assurance away
We owe it all to what happened long ago
On that blessed Resurrection Day!
