Under the Influence?

What or who has such an impact on our lives that we find that there seems to be a pattern established; in how we think, speak and conduct ourselves in the everyday matters of living in a very complicated and troubled world.

There are so many addictions to which we can potentially and easily become enslaved. We all have natural needs and desires which tugs on the emotional strings of our hearts and we long to have them satisfied. It is when we attempt to satisfy these desires and needs in a way that excludes God and His Revealed Word of Truth that we invite the opportunity for an addictive replacement to have a foot in the door to our mind, will, and emotions. If this particular potential addiction is welcomed back repeatedly, a stronghold has developed. The Bible teaches us that this is no accident. There is a real devil and he and his armies of demons are definitely at work behind the scene.

As Christians we are not left defenseless: 3And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
4Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. (1 John 4:3,4) As we submit ourselves unto our Heavenly Father, in an ongoing prayerful dependence upon Christ Jesus (The Word of God Who became Flesh), which is accomplished in us by the Holy Spirit, Who Is Living inside of us, we will be Blessed with an awareness of our being under the influence and control of The Holy Spirit or as The Holy Bible describes; being filled with the Holy Spirit.

Ephesians chapter 5 says: 18And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit… As we live under the influence of The Holy Spirit, there will be a progressive pattern evident, not without the occasional setback of sin (which needs to be confessed to The Lord as soon as The Lord Mercifully, brings it to our attention). This will result in our being Blessed with a comforting, assurance that we are under The Spirit’s influence in how we think, speak and conduct ourselves in the everyday matters of living in a very complicated and troubled world.
