A Christian’s Worthiness

Dee and I often find ourselves engaged in lively discussions covering a variety of topics; and one that comes to mind is exploring what The Holy Bible teaches about a Christian’s worthiness.

When I stop to inquire of the Lord the meaning of the word worthy and how it might apply to a Christian; I find that, as wait upon Him in the quite stillness of my prayer time with Him, He would whisper to my Redeemed, Regenerated heart; counseling me to diligently seek in His Holy Revealed Word of Truth. It is there that I will find, by Grace through Faith, The Answer to my question.
In Revelation chapter 3 verses 3 to 5; in 1John verses 4 and 5; and in 2 Corinthians 5: 21 we read:
3)Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
4)Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
5)He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

4)For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
5)Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

21)For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

From the above-mentioned Bible Verses we are taught that the one who overcomes and is not defiled by the things of the world is worthy to be clothed in white raiment and shall walk with The Lord. This reality “God Alone Has Made Possible” through the Reconciling, Redeeming, Propitiating, Regenerating Work of His Only Begotten Son; Who was Conceived by The Holy Spirit and born of a young God fearing virgin named Mary. “He Is”: The Crucified, Resurrected from the dead, Ascended, Glorified, Returning, Almighty Creator, Saviour and Lord Messiah Jesus Christ. When a person, by Grace through Faith, paradoxically realizes their own unworthiness; in Godly sorrow, repents of their entire sin nature state of being and of all their sins committed in a lifetime in a sincere confession of faith; trusting in The Overcoming Work of “The Lamb of God”: Who Alone Taketh Away the sin of the world; Who Alone Is Worthy of our praise; and by Believing in Him, The Word of God Who Became Flesh and receiving Him by faith; being born again; baptized, indwelt and sealed by The Holy Spirit; a person becomes worthy in the presence of The Holy, Lord, God Almighty; by being Born of God; which results in being made righteous in Christ Jesus. By simply taking God at His Word and believing in Him and what He says about Himself from His Holy Written Revealed Word of Truth, within It’s grammatical, historical context is “Child-like Faith”! This is Saving Faith!
This same Biblical Truth of the paradoxical principle of recognizing our unworthiness is to be experienced in Christian living. Our living worthy, meaningful lives; to Honor, Glorify, Worship and Bless The Holy Lord God Almighty, is only made possible as we Trust, have Faith in, Jesus Christ, our High Priest, Who Is our Advocate before The Throne of Grace. It is there, in Christ, before The Throne of Grace, we can seek, find and receive God’s Mercy and receive God’s Grace to Help us live the Christian Life; by the All Knowing, Peaceful, Enabling, Powerful, Providing, Protecting, Perfect Work of The Indwelling Holy Spirit of God, Who now Lives and Moves within our Redeemed, Spiritually Quickened, Regenerated Souls, which live within temporary bodies, which are still, for a brief time, imperfect and corruptible; until Jesus Christ Returns for us, His Church. It is at this future time we will be the recipients of: Perfect, Eternal, Incorruptible, Holy, Glorified Bodies; clothed in The Righteousness of Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour Forever; Amen, Amen, Amen! This is to be the Christian focus and experience in everyday living and ministry, as we journey, like pilgrims, through this foreign land towards our Eternal, Heavenly Home that our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Is Preparing for us, the Adopted Children of God. This is the only Way for a Christian to experience: meaning and purpose and the preordained good works that God has specifically prepared for his or her act of service, which is worthy of The Lord. To God Alone Be The Glory!
