Soil Analysis

Although I’m not a farmer, and I know that I’d be exaggerating to say that I have a green thumb, when it comes to gardening; but if there was one thing that I do know about planting seeds for the purpose of obtaining fruitful results is this; good soil is absolutely essential.

As we know, our Creator, Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ emphasized the importance of good soil in a parable.
3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold. ( Matthew 13:3-8).

As our Lord explained this parable in the gospel of Matthew, one word that seemed to be significant is the word “understand” and it has a vital relationship with a person’s heart.
15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

The Holy Written Word of God Encourages us to have our hearts examined by God.
2 Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart. (Psalm 26:2).
In the book of Hebrews we learn the key ingredient for good soil, (a prepared and receptive heart), is “faith”. 3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

So let us continue to walk our Christian walk, as we have been saved; by Grace through Faith, and He Who has begun a good work in us will complete it on the day of Christ Jesus. To God Alone Be The Glory!
