Christmas 2007

Are you ready for Christmas? How many times have you heard that question sent in your direction, as you were out and about in your travels attempting to engage in fulfilling your plans for the day during this Christmas season? How did you respond? I must confess that I could have responded with a more thoughtful answer in some situations. I would find myself giving a quick, happy reply that would consist of a list of things that have been accomplished and a hopefully shorter list of things that remain to be done. When I would follow up with a similar question in each case I would receive a similar reply. Don’t get me wrong! I really believe that such friendly, happy dialogue has it’s place in these circumstances, but there are moments, as the day wares on, when I start feeling a little drained and somewhat empty by continuing to provide similar responses to people who have probably been experiencing something quite similar in their day. To deal with this weariness, I find that I need to seek for a quiet place to be alone with God. In those few minutes of uninterrupted fellowship with my Creator, Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ, I receive some much needed refreshing nourishment for my soul. After my peaceful time of prayer, I experience an invigorated outlook and I feel better equipped to engage in the next conversation with all its anticipated seasonal questions. I find that the genuineness has returned in my responses with an even greater measure of joy. In some circumstances, in the conversations that followed I hear myself giving an answer to the question; “ Are you ready for Christmas?” with this reply; “ In one sense I’m ready and in another sense I still have some work to do!”

As you and your loved ones seek to experience a meaningful Christmas that would bring you comfort in your heart aches and real hope for your future,it is David's and my prayer that as we all in our hearts, look upon The Baby, who was born in a Bethlehem manger over two thousand years ago,and understand why He came, will experience the comfort, peace, hope and joy that all of us long for, as we journey through Life in a very troubled and hurting world.

Joy to the world; The Lord Has Come!

From our hearts to yours,Wishing You a Most Beautiful Christmas and a Blessed New Year!!!
